Every strategy deck has a slide with a bold prediction on it, like "Plant-based has stopped growing" or "GLP-1 drugs will reshape the food aisle." The prediction sounds confident, sits on the page for a year or two, and then either quietly disappears from the next deck or gets treated as obvious in hindsight. Seldom is it something a team can trace back to a number, a source, or a date.

That gap between confident claims and checkable evidence is the problem Nextatlas Foresight was built to close.

Trend intelligence has an evidence problem

Institutional knowledge, the reports, patents, and forward-looking articles produced by research houses, consultancies, and innovators, contains millions of directional statements about where markets are heading. Somewhere in that mass of material sits a genuine signal about solid-state EV batteries reaching mass production, or functional mushrooms entering the mainstream beverage aisle. The signal is real. Finding it, weighing it, and turning it into something a board can act on is where most trend work quietly runs aground.

The usual fix has been to add more reading: more reports, more analysts, more dashboards. That approach scales the volume of information without scaling the confidence behind any single claim. A strategy team ends up with more slides and the same underlying question unanswered: how sure are we, actually, that this is where things are going, and by when?

Everything starts with a claim

Foresight approaches the problem differently by breaking institutional knowledge down into its smallest useful unit: the claim. A claim is an affirmation extracted from a source that states how something is changing, structured consistently as information, direction, and time horizon. "Plant-based beverage consumption will increase 40 percent in North America by 2030" is a claim. So is a single sentence buried in a patent filing or a five-year-old industry report.

Nextatlas Foresight has parsed more than 4.14 million of these claims, drawn from a scope that includes over 120 million patents, and structured every one of them the same way: what topic is changing, in which direction, over what timeframe, in which geography, at what scale, affecting which actor, and against which PESTLE driver. Reducing a report or a patent to that structure is what makes it possible to count claims, compare them, and connect them, instead of reading them once and moving on.

A signal earns probability when independent sources agree

One claim is an opinion. Thousands of claims, made by sources that never spoke to each other and pointing in the same direction, start to look like something else. Foresight's approach is to treat convergence as the thing worth measuring. When institutional reports, patent filings, and innovator activity independently point toward the same shift, confidence rises in a way that a single well-written report can never earn on its own.

A pile of well-structured claims is still just a pile until it resolves into a decision. Foresight's scenario logic borrows a distinction long used in serious forecasting work: possible, plausible, and probable. Not every claim deserves equal weight, and a single number should never be mistaken for a single predicted future. Sorting outcomes into what could happen, what plausibly could happen, and what is backed by enough convergence to call probable is what lets a team mark a probable core for action while holding the edges as risk, rather than debating every claim from scratch.

Those scored, time-stamped claims then map onto near, medium, and long horizons; a readiness score and an inferred timeframe attach to each one, so a strategy team can sequence bets instead of arguing about which report to trust.

Built into how research teams already work

None of this is useful if it lives in a report that gets read once and archived. Foresight is designed to sit inside the tools a research or strategy team already uses: claims, scenarios, and probabilities flow through a REST API and an MCP connector directly into existing workflows, and bespoke observatories can be built around a specific category when a team needs a dedicated source pool and taxonomy. The point of quantifying the future

None of this claims to predict the future with certainty. What it does is replace a confident sentence in a slide deck with a number a team can interrogate: how many independent sources support this, how far out is it expected to land, and how has that confidence moved since the last time anyone checked. That is a different kind of foresight than a report that gets read once and shelved. It is a standing capability that a board can ask to defend itself with evidence, before anyone has to ask for it.
